As Haggai leader Marlene Portillo grew in her faith, she was determined that children should know the love of God as she did – but not on an empty stomach.
The founder and owner of a successful event and catering business, Marlene has worked at the highest levels of the Mexican government and garnered international recognition from culinary schools around the world.
But her heart has always been focused on the less fortunate in her country. She works among the poor and homeless, making visits to hospitals with food and clothing. And every month, she visits a local community to help with meals, provide groceries, and spend time caring for the people and sharing the hope of the Gospel.
